Let’s make this easier…
REMEMBER: that words are capitalized if
they are SPECIFIC persons, places, or
things, or if they are important in a
TITLE.
Of course, all sentences begin with a
capital letter!
Proper nouns and proper adjectives
are always capitalized.
Examples
SPECIFIC people: Eleanor Roosevelt
SPECIFIC organizations: Booster Club
SPECIFIC places: Boston, Massachusetts
SPECIFIC buildings: Acres of Fun
SPECIFIC regions: Florida is in the South.
SPECIFIC groups: Republicans
SPECIFIC titles: Captain Hook; Dr. Brown
SPECIFIC family name: The cake belongs to
Dad. (The cake belongs to my dad.)
