What is A.P. Studio Art?
Advanced placement art
is designed for students
who are serious about
art. At the completion of
the course a portfolio is
sent to the College Board
to be scored. Many
colleges give credit for a
score of 3 or better.

What is A.P. Studio Art?
This is a very
structured course. Our
goal is for all students to
succeed. The first year is
all assigned work and the
second year is monitored
closely by the teacher.
This is not a course
where the student gets to
do whatever they want.
It requires a great deal
on discipline on the part
of the students.

concentration
section. From these
20 we will choose 5
pieces for the quality

At the beginning of the
second year the student
and the teacher choose a
subject for the student to
work on the entire year.

The Breadth section is a
series of 12 assignments
designed to demonstrate
a variety of skills and
knowledge. All first year
students do the same
assignments. The work
from Drawing and
Painting is also part of
this section.
