Iowa Schools Employee Benefits
Association
ISEBA
 Formed in July 1999 and jointly governed
by the Iowa Association of School Boards
(IASB) and the Iowa State Education
Association (ISEA)
ISEBA
 Provide affordable, customized school
employee benefit products and services to
its membership
 Represents about 200 school districts,
community colleges and area education
agencies covering more than 20,000
employees and their dependents
ISEBA
 Goal: deliver the finest comprehensive,
accessible, user-friendly and affordable
employee benefits program for Iowa
school employees
 It provides fully insured medical, dental,
vision, life and disability programs for its
membership
ISEBA
 One way to provide these services is to
partner with other agencies and companies
to provide services requested by the ISEBA
membership.
 In 2005, the membership requested
reduced or no-cost flu shots. Farm Bureau
collaborated with Hy-Vee groceries to
provide this service.
ISEBA
 2006: low or no-cost sports physicals for
dependents of the memberships were
requested
 ISEBA, Des Moines University and others
collaborated to conduct 4 opportunities
around the state that included a large
portion of the total membership (30 mile
radius).
FREE
SPORTS PHYSICAL CLINICS
“We are offering the free sports
physicals and clinic because of our
concern about rising health care
costs and the need to educate
families and student athletes about
making healthy lifestyle choices,”
explains Deb Yount-Woods,
Member Services Administrator
for the Iowa Farm Bureau.

Comments from Evaluations
 The best physical my kid has ever had
 Very professional
 This has been extremely helpful especially
when you have 3 students needing
physicals. It certainly helps the budget.
 Much needed-closest doctor is 30 miles
away—thanks for thinking of us
Comments, con’t:
 I am usually afraid of doctors but this was
fun and I hope to get physicals here every
year
 That didn’t take long at all
 Wow, I have never had a physical so good
and nice people
 Very comprehensive-come back next year
Comments, con’t:
 We need more of these in Iowa.
 Thank you-this is greatly needed in our
community
 Very excellent
 Quality physicals, never had before
 Thanks DMU, Farm Bureau and the other
partners for putting this on in my school
district!
