Evaluation Decision Tree
The Decision Tree is your guide to selecting the
appropriate evaluation instrument(s) to use
based on your program’s audience and the total
number of programming hours.
Evaluation Instruments
• For an FNP program of 3 hours or less, only
participant totals are required to be entered
into K-PICS.
• Tracking responses is optional and primarily
for your own use.
Hand Raising Activity
• Use this instrument for a FNP session or series of
any length and with any audience.
• Conduct this activity just one time to get a sense
of your participants’ nutrition behaviors, or use it
at the beginning and end of your series to collect
and compare pre- and post-program data.
• To prepare, select up to 5 questions or
statements from the question banks that match
the audience, content and priorities of the
session or series you will be presenting.

for children in grades PreK – 3.
