Agreement 2011-2015
The overall objective of the program is to strengthen
higher education and national research systems through the
support to research, postgraduate training and to the
development of institutional capacity for research
management.
The support focus on:
i. Collaborative research and postgraduate training;
ii. Local postgraduate research training programs;
iii. Research environment improvement;
iv. Strengthening research management capacity
v. Library services.

Lessons Learnt
• Procurement and purchasing of equipment –
proper planning;
• Teaching load – coordination with the Deans of the
Faculties;
• Length of stay in the training institutions – better
coordination: student, supervisor, coordinator;
• Students trips preparation: planning based in the
study plan, accommodation by supervisor,
insurance paid by ISP;

• CONCEPT NOTE should make reference to national
and institutional policies and strategic plans and it has
2 main components: 10 years outlook and 5 years
specific and detailed plans
Possible areas for collaboration (1/3)
1. Research training:
• National courses and thesis based on PhD-training
programs;
• National courses and thesis based on MSc-training
programs;
• PhD Sandwich training;
• Research groups;
• Post-doc “Sandwich” fellowships;
• Competence enhancing courses for PhD holders.
