Conferences for SAPG Members
 A few spots each year are available to SAPG members to
attend national conferences as a means of building capacity,
networking and leadership development.
 Isaiah Brokenleg received partial support; attended the
UW Madison Grief Support Specialist Certificate program in
May and June in Madison;
 Bri Vonnahme attended the Interscience Conference on
Antimicrobial Agents in Washington, D.C. in early Sept.;
 Dennis Wojciehowski, Michael Lewis will attend the US
Conference on AIDS in early October (in San Diego)

Reduction conference in Baltimore in late October
Nominations for Co-Chair Elect
 This is the time of year when we must choose a
new co-chair elect. Next year, Anne BrosowskyRoth will be your fearless leader.
 Those who want to nominate a fellow member or
him or herself to be co-chair elect can do so by
submitting the name to Barbara by October 17.
 Candidates will prepare a 5 minute speech for the
November 6 meeting addressing:
 Why you would be a great leader for SAPG?
 What skills and experience do you bring to the job?
 Your ideas for SAPG as we move forward.
Nominations for Co-Chair Elect
 Elections will occur at the November meeting
 The co-chair elect will be an active part of the
leadership team in 2015 and will become the
community co-chair in 2016. This role includes
facilitating the meetings, working with State staff
to develop, implement, evaluate each meeting,
offer guidance throughout the year to the SAPG
coordinator and serve as a liaison with SAPG
membership.
 It is an important and FUN ‘job’.  think about it -
Recruitment Time is Coming

Help us recruit Great People for 2015! Applications will be posted on the
website soon. We are taking volunteers for the Selection
Committee? Being part of this committee involves one conference call
and active outreach in your own communities for new members and
attending the selection committee meeting in January to decide who to
invite to become members. Who would like to serve on this?

We’ll recruit for six new members. Five people are cycling off as this is
their final year in November:
 Chris Allen
 Cindy Draws
 Anthony Harris

Concurrence & The WI Strategy
 State wide planning groups are charged by CDC to 1)
inform and monitor the development of and 2) support and
promote the implementation of the HIV Jurisdictional
Prevention Plan (WI Strategy)
 Over the course of this year, the WI Strategy was updated
and two papers were included:
 Community Engagement: A Process and Outcome for HIV
Services and
 Needs Assessment and the Wisconsin HIV/AIDS Strategy
 This updated version was posted on our members only
website for all to review and provide comment
 We received a number of helpful comments & suggestions;
adjustments were made and incorporated into the WI
Strategy 2014 Addendum
Therefore…
 Therefore, SAPG leadership on behalf of the SAPG has
concurred that:
- The Wisconsin HIV/AIDS Strategy 2012-2015 describes how
programmatic activities and resources are being allocated
to the disproportionately affected populations and
geographical areas that bear the greatest burden of HIV
disease.
 SAPG’s letter of concurrence will be signed today by Jim
Vergeront and myself and it will be sent to CDC soon.
 Thanks to all who worked on this. Since it is a living
document we will now assist in it’s implementation. Get
ready for next year when a larger re-write will be required
