High level themes
Statutory
Obligations
External
Stakeholders
> Delivered on our
statutory objective
(SV Act).
> Positive feedback
> Lost our focus in waste.
> Strong views about
how it can be better
and more effective.
> Not met our statutory
obligations at a state
level.
SV Review and new strategic direction | March

> Supportive of SV and
its achievements.
> Support for our role in
renewable projects,
education &
community facilitation.
SV Staff
> No clear definition of
sustainability.
> Work not long term,
strategic.
> SV’s remit getting
broader and people
more stretched.
> Have not done enough
to evaluate our results.
SV’s effectiveness
>
Impact has been measured in three headline measures;
1.
Carbon dioxide abated More than 12m tonnes
2.
Diversion of waste from landfill 700,000 tonnes
3.
Reach3m Victorians since 08/09
>
Measures mostly reflect projects and programs
–
Not possible to aggregate
>
CO2 abated is about 10% of Victoria’s annual emissions
>
Three projects deliver almost all the abatement
