The ideal coursebook should: * meet our institution’s objectives * make the objectives accessible / visual / tangible for students and teachers (checklists after each unit/module) * be theme-based, communicative, skills integrated and production oriented
* be a multimedia book (more like a guidebook / reference book linking the objectives to other resources) * encourage student-centered approach * promote critical thinking * focus on study skills and strategies / include reminders / tip boxes throughout
Tasks and activities should: * promote collaborative work * suit the student profile of our institution * reflect real life situations * encourage project-based work
The texts should: • be as authentic as possible • be relevant to the student’s interests and needs • treat both local and global topics • have a systematic approach to revising and recycling vocabulary
