Image Resolution
 It is especially important to keep track of image
resolution, or pixels per inch, in Photoshop.
 Lower resolution images are easier to send over the
Internet and to present on-screen.
 Higher resolution images contain more data and sharper
detail.

Saving Your File
 Photoshop’s default format for saving graphics is PSD
(Photoshop Document).
 When integrating Photoshop with Publisher, it is necessary to
save a document as a JPEG.
Before You Begin Go to
Chapter 6, and choose
PowerPoint

the documents you will be
creating. Also, use the
individual project Rubrics
to help create and
evaluate your work.

of the document.
 Instead, it would be best to tile print a banner using layout
software.

Apply PARC to Newsletters
PARC Principle
Application
Proximity
Titles should clearly identify articles.
Headers, subheads, etc. should be
grouped with the information that they
describe. White space should be used
to break up text.
Alignment
Use layout grids for consistent spacing
and placement of information. The tops
of columns must align.
Repetition
Create a strong design element and use
it throughout. Use a Master Page to add
repeated elements. Experiment with
different kinds of spot colors or paper.
Contrast
Make special information stand out by
using different fonts or design elements
that contrast with the existing design.
