Information as an Asset

Information is an asset so long as it has positive
value to the enterprise


Information is a time-dependent asset


When the asset ceases to have value, it becomes a burden
and needs to be divested
Value is retained over a defined time period, then
diminishes
Value is dependent on the ability of the enterprise to
discover, access, understand, and consume the
information
