Observation:
•This comparison offers perspective. It is a good indicator of the rigor of the test and alignment with CSSU programs.
•Performance of CSSU is above State in all subject areas in grades 3-8.
•CSSU achievement levels in grades 3-8 most significantly exceed the State in grade 4 science by 13% and grades 5 and 8
writing scores by 15%.
•CSSU students grades 3-8 excel in reading, math and 8th grade writing.

•Over six years 11% more students achieve Proficient with Distinction at 8th grade than in 3rd grade.
•7% more students achieve Proficient and Proficient with Distinction over six years.
•8% fewer students achieved in the Partially and Below Proficient category over six years.

5 and 8. One CSSU school participated in the electronic trial this spring.
Observations:
•CSSU grade 5 writing is consistently high and out performs the state by 15% points in 2010.
•CSSU grade 5 students performing Proficient and Above increased 2% since 2005.
•CSSU grade 8 writing scores show improvement and are consistently high.
•Grade 8 scores are higher than our grade 5 scores and are 15% points above the State in 2010.
•Grade 8 students performing in Proficient and Above increased 3% since 2005.
• 15% fewer 8th grade students performed in the Partial and Below Proficient category in 2010 than in 2008.
