A Solution not a Tool
There are many different requirements and applications for dashboards, as such, we
intend to move away from seeing dashboarding as a problem solved with a single
tool to one that requires a solution which can leverage many BI tools, depending on
the customer’s requirements
Generally you can think of dashboards in two ways
1.
A dashboard is simply the visual presentation of summary data to enable
the improved performance of the individual and business. This is presented
in a format which makes the information easily accessible, both through the
UI and interactions as well as provides visual indicators which quickly
highlight problems or successes
2.
A dashboard is a collection of information which one needs easily
accessible to enable the completion of tasks and ensure improved
performance of the individual and business. This collection of information
may come in different formats and from different sources and not
necessarily be a summarized view
This distinction is important to decide when the solution will use just Xcelsius vs
Xcelsius in conjunction with other technologies
