Gender Analysis Round 8 to 10: Key
Recommendations (1)
• promote gender balance within CCMs, reinforce
expertise and encourage the participation of
women’s organizations.
• support countries in gathering and analyzing age
and sex disaggregated data during proposal
development and grant implementation.
• ensure strong gender components and quality
program implementation and to prevent attrition of
gender-related interventions.
Gender Analysis Round 8 to 10; Key
Recommendations (2)
• Applicants, with the support of technical partners,
are encouraged to integrate more effective
gender-responsive activities in future proposals
• Applicants planning to include PMTCT programs
in future proposals should apply the
comprehensive four-pronged approach —.
• Applicants whose proposals address issues
affecting sex workers should pay equal attention
to the clients of sex workers, and should include
legal and stigma reduction.
The Way Forward: Global
• Linkage of GES to global efforts PMTCT/MNCH,
Action Framework, harmonized indicators, etc
• Focus on violence against women
• Engagement of technical partners in capacity
building and collaboration on how to address
gender and key affected populations
• CCM’s should demonstrate meaningful
incorporation of the GES
• Advocacy and engagement with civil society,
watch dogs and policy institutions to keep gender
on the agenda
The Way Forward: Country
1) Call for gender-focused TA from partners to
countries to integrate more gender sensitive/
transformative intervention in proposal and program
implementation.
2) Capacity Building and training on gender
mainstreaming in proposal development support to
countries
3) To develop and promote “quick win” interventions
proposal development and reprogramming efforts
