INSPIRE is Indiana’s Virtual Library on the
Internet. It is a collection of commercial
databases and other information resources
that can be accessed by Indiana residents
using any computer equipped with an
Internet connections.
It is paid for by all Indiana citizens.
Anyone can access INSPIRE in Indiana either
at school, home, in their library or at their
place of business and it is free.
Many of the databases are updated on a daily
basis and the currency of data varies by
journal.
Over 2 dozen databases with:
• Thousands of magazines and journals with fulltext
• Hundreds of newspapers from around the U.S.
• Material for students in elementary school in
INSPIRE Kids and junior high and high school in
the Student Research Center
• Other topics and resources include: Academics,
Business, Careers, Literature, Health &
Medicine, Biographies, Education, Spanishlanguage
Any kind of information that you might find
in a magazine or journal plus websites,
pamphlets, images, almanacs, library
catalogs and more can be found in
INSPIRE.
INSPIRE provides cover to cover indexing
and abstracts of all articles that appear in
every periodical with the exception of some
newspapers. Only letters to the editor,
advertisements and some images are
excluded.

• There are different interfaces to use
including one for students called Kids
Search.
