Hemo Control – new features
New Hemo Control analyzers can now be upgraded with Data Management
(DM) functions through purchasing an ‘add pack’
This is ideal for customers who are…
Planning future connection of POC devices to LIS but have not yet decided
Connection to LIS postponed for budget reasons, option to split costs
Facing increasing demands for connectivity and want to keep options open

NEW – Data management ‘add pack‘
Preinstalled DM functions, integrated Bluetooth
Improved connectivity using the new LIS2-A2
public standard protocol
-
The new Bi-directional interface in the Hemo Control analyzer allows direct
connection to third party software without Hemo Connect software using
LIS2-A2.
-
The protocol is the basis for interfacing with the customers LIS system via the
existing middleware (e.g. Alere RALS) or with other 3rd party software.
Did you know...
The LIS2-A2 communication standard is the successor of the
well known ASTM (E1381/E1394) standard.
It’s a common standard for small to mid size analyzers and
easier to integrate than POCT-1A

Check list for interfacing with LIS
-
Establish contact to the end-users IT department as early as possible
-
Find out which software and, possibly, middleware is used and the number of
devices to be connected
-
Provide IT contact information to Product manager
-
Product manager or R&D to provide protocol of the interface for Hemo
Control (Manager)
-
Product manager to establish direct communication between programmers
(distributor and RSM will be updated on the process and time-lines)
-
Check if and what costs are related to establish the interface and installation
and who pays (Product manager in cooperation with R&D and RSM)
NB: Connectivity to LIS settings is never ‘plug and play’. Early communication
with IT departments is essential and has proven to be very efficient (e.g. working
with Alere to adapt its RALS system).
