ABSTRACT
THE INFLUENCE OF NIOSOME SYSTEM (SPAN 60 - CHOLESTEROL) ON
THE PREPARATION CHARACTERISTICS AND DICLOFENAC SODIUM
RELEASE FROM CARBOPOL ETD 2020 GEL
Riza Ariesta Hellinda
This study was designed to observe the influence of noisome system from the
preparation diclofenac sodium, Span 60 and cholesterol with molar comparation 1:6:6
on characteristics (organoleptics and pH) and diclofenac sodium release from
Carbopol ETD 2020 gel. In the formula I was diclofenac sodium in Carbopol ETD
2020 gel without Span 60 and cholesterol, formula II was diclofenac sodium in
Carbopol ETD 2020 with niosome compound but without preparation as a niosome
system and formula III was niosome system of diclofenac sodium in Carbopol ETD
2020 gel. The release of diclofenac sodium from all formulation through celofane
membrane. Dissolution test were carried out in 500 mL of phosphat buffer saline pH
7,4 ± 0,05 at temperature 37 ± 0,5°C with speed of swirl 100 rpm. Flux is the
cumulative amount of diclofenac sodium which is release per cm2 per minute. Results
were analyzed by statistic programmed of SPSS using one way analysis of variance
with degree of believed 95% (α = 0,05). The flux of formula I was 154,0973 ± 12,03
µg/cm2/menit1/2; formula II was 73,9833 ± 3,01 µg/cm2/menit1/2; and in formula III
was 100,6799 ± 3,88 µg/cm2/menit1/2. In conclution that the rate of diclofenac
sodium release in formula I was the highest and formula III was higher than formula
II.
