Acoustic Well Sounding
for Windows
Sirius
Petroleum Software
AWS
AWS uses acoustic well sounding data and fluid
levels, to calculate the pressure at midpoint of
perforations of oil wells. The program calculates
the gas and fluid column pressures separately,
and adds or subtracts these, to determine the
pressure at MPP. Several different methods are
available to calculate the gas column pressure.
The results can be plotted, checked and reported
on a well, group, pool or total basis.

Well Data
• Wells are defined with a pool, group and a
lease.
• Basic Data: Well name, UWI, group and
lease.
• Elevations: KB, CF, Perforations, Tubing,
and Casing.
• Fluid shots: Type of test, date, casing /
tubing pressure, watercut and fluid level.
