Seeds

Dicots are seeds that have two parts The two large parts of the seeds are called cotyledons . They supply the food for the young plant when it's growing.

Monocots are seeds that only have one cotyledon

Leaves

Dicot leaves are usually net-

veined

(tulang daun menjari/menyirip) Monocots typically possess parallel-veined leaves (tulang daun sejajar)

Flower

Monocots have their flower parts in threes or multiples of three ; example the tulip and lily (Lilium ).

Dicots have their flower parts in fours (or multiples) or fives (or multiples).

(daun berkelipatan empat atau lima)

Stem

Monocot stems have scattered vascular bundles.

(berkas pembuluh menyebar)

Monocot stems have most of their vascular bundles near the outside edge of the stem.

Dicot stems have their vascular bundles in a ring arrangement.

(ikatan pembuluhnya membentuk cincin)

Root

Dicot roots have their xylem in the center of the root and phloem outside the xylem. The roots of dicots are usually short and stringy.

(akar tunggang) Monocot roots have their vascular bundles arranged in a ring. The root is often a single long tap root with smaller roots growing from it. (akar serabut)

Kambium yang terdapat di antara berkas pembuluh .

Fungsi : membentuk jari-jari empulur

IKATAN PEMBULUH (VASCULAR BUNDLE)

• Kolateral : Terbuka dan Tertutup

Terbuka bila antara xilem dan phloem ditemukan kambium (tanaman dikotil) Tertutup bila antara xilem dan phloem tidak ditemukan kambium (monokotil)

• Radial : Amfikribal dan Amfivasal

Amfikribal

bila xilem berada di tengah dan dikelilingi oleh phloem (tanaman paku)

Amfivasa

l bila floem berada di tengah dan dikelilingi oleh xilem (tanaman lili)

Cara Mengukur Umur Pohon dengan Mudah

• Ukurlah keliling batang pohon 1.5 m dari tanah • Bagilah keliling pohon dengan 2.5 cm (setiap tahun bertambah 2.5 cm)
