Florida High School Athletic Association UNSPORTING CONDUCT - COACHES • Coach must miss the same number of games as players • Policy 30 • School fine schedule in FHSAA Handbook • Public Criticism of officials and coaches is forbidden • NO alcohol and tobacco products Florida High School Athletic Association IMPORTANT BOWLING DATES Swimming and Diving Date First practice date (Week 6) Aug. 13 Preseason Meets (Week 8) Aug. 20 - 25 First regular season playing date (Week 9) Aug. 27 Last regular season playing date (Week 16) Oct. 27 Official Entry List Due Oct. 22 District Meets (Week 17) Oct. 29-30 FHSAA Finals (Week 19) Nov. 7-8 Florida High School Athletic Association Florida High School Athletic Association COACHES RESPONSIBILITIES • District Planning Meeting Aug 20 – Aug 31 • District Coordinators are indicated on the FHSAA web site under “State Series Assignments” COACHES RESPONSIBILITIES TOURNAMENT APPROVAL Only necessary when involving schools from other states (concurrent season and similar eligibility rules) Events Needing NFHS Approval •Host School Responsibility •Due 90 days in advance or late processing fee •Can be tracked on NFHS web site (www.nfhs.org) •Must use current form Participation in Out-of-State Contest Policy 7.5: New Form AT16 Application For Out of State Travel • Outside of Georgia, and Alabama. • Submitted no later than 60 days of travel. • Certification of Travel Approval • Letter from superintendent/board of director (president) approving the out of state travel (either/or) • Board minutes of approval for students to leave the state FHSAA ADOPTIONS • USBC High School Bowling Rules prevail • USBC High School provides a “High School Official Guide”. PLAYOFF SYSTEM • Entry List Deadline October 22 - C2C Schools - Must be submitted to District Tournament Host •District tournaments are Oct. 29 - Oct. 30 • Top 2 teams and top 2 individuals advance to the State Tournament • State Tournament Boardwalk Bowl (Orlando)—hosted by East River H. S. on Nov. 7-8 PLAYOFF SYSTEM State Tournament 1. Get bowling balls certified before coming to Orlando. Form will be on the FHSAA web site. There will be a fee at Boardwalk Bowl. 2. Pre-tournament Meeting for head coaches (attendance required) on Tuesday evening, Nov. 6 at 5:30 at Boardwalk Bowl Florida High School Athletic Association State Tournament Changes • Individual tournament will be a true double elimination bracket. • Substitutions can be made at any time during American Tenpin and Baker style Games. • Tournament will be held on Wednesday and Thursday. The Pit •Only 1 Coach will be allowed in the pit area per team! •NO Powder bags or rosin will be allowed in the pit.
