Born: January 9, 1859
Graduated from Iowa state college in Ames Iowa.
Married a newspaper editor named Leo chapman he died shortly after the
wedding then she re-married to George Catt
She was part of Nawsa (National American women's suffrage association)
Worked along side of Susan B. Anthony for women's rights
She passed away March 9, 1947 at age 88
OCCASION

Mrs. Carrie Catt gave this speech and brought this issue to the
attention of the congress on behalf of unfair treatment on women,
casue they where treated poorly and not given the right to vote or
really even seem like a fairly treated citizen.
AUDIENCE
Carrie was not only talking to congress she also held speeches, and
different projects that she made to bring this important issue to the
eyes of the public, and make people think about women having the
right to vote, as well as being treated the same as males, and everyone
else that is treated equally.
PURPOSE
Why did she do this?
Carrie wanted equal rights for everyone not just women. She also
wanted equal rights for black women as well. She felt strongly on this
issue and she also wanted the rest of America to feel the same way.
SUBJECT
The subject was women suffrage. Carrie wanted rights for all
women, she was a very determined women, She worked on equal
rights for women almost her whole life, but never lived long enough
to see her dream come true.
TONE
The tone was very motivated and very determined. She knew what
she wanted and she was going to do everything in her power to get it.
