your Minnesota FastTRAC partnership. In this module you will learn some basic information about the types
of organizations that are invited to participate in MN FastTRAC partnerships.
Module 2: The Role of the Navigator
This module will introduce you to the basic functions and tasks required for participant success and help you
understand how to organize the work. At the end of the module you will be asked to create a job description
outlining your work and start organizing the resources that you will use to support participants.
Module 3: Enrolling & Motivating Participants
Getting off to a strong starts with your participants will provide a foundation for your future support. This
learning resource will present some tips for getting started with setting expectations, conducting an intake
interview, and assessments that can help you anticipate future needs.
Module 4: Navigating Educational Pathways
Most of your participants will need help understanding administrative processes, policies, and deadlines
required by your partnering college. It is important to have a basic understanding of admission, enrollment,
and assessment processes required by your college. This module will help you identify the type of
information you will need to acquire.
Module 5: Creating Access to Success for Participants
One challenge of being a navigator is building trust with your participants so that they will come to you if they
face a barrier to their academic success. Early, proactive meetings can build trust and demonstrate to
participants that you can find resources. In this module you will be presented with some tools to help you
organize this proactive outreach.
Module 6: Navigating Work and Career Development
Supporting your participants with job search, building employability skills, and networking are just a few of the
services you can provide your participants while they are working with you. This module will provide you with
guidance completing these tasks.
