Manipulating images
using PhotoEditor
Help Guide
Getting started
Microsoft PhotoEditor comes with Microsoft Windows
and can be found following these steps:

Click on Start.

Choose Programs.

Select Microsoft Office Tools.

Click on Microsoft PhotoEditor.
New image
To open a saved file
Click on File on the toolbar at the
top of the screen.
Then select Open.
Find the file and click OK.
OR
If you have copied an image from
the Internet
Click on Edit.
Then select Paste as New Image.
Resizing an image
Click on Image on the toolbar at
the top of the screen.
Then select Resize.
This box will appear.
Use the arrows to make it the size
you want.
Click on Smooth.
Then click OK.
Cropping an image
Click on this button on the toolbar
at the top of the screen.
Now click on your image and
highlight the part that you want to
keep.
Click on Image on the toolbar.
Then select Crop.
This box will appear.
Click on Rectangle.
Then click OK.
Editing colours
Click on Image on the toolbar
at the top.
Then select Balance.
Move the arrows to make
changes.
You can choose to change ‘All
colours’ or choose ‘Red’,
‘Green’ or ‘Blue’.
When finished, click OK.
Effects
PhotoEditor also has lots of
effects that you can try out.
Click on Effects on the toolbar.
Select one of the effects and see
what happens to your image.
ALWAYS save your edited
image as a new file name
so that you can go back to
the original if you need to.
