1/28 (3pm)

 Get PARENT SIGNATURE on the yellow sheet or course
Infinite Campus portal printout
 Bring Yellow Course Sheet to scheduled meeting with
counselor starting late Jan./early Feb. during your US
History classes
 Use the (Pink) Senior Course Offerings Handout to
determine correct course codes (semester preference is not
guaranteed ) *course codes ending in the number “1” are 1st
semester and codes ending in “2” are 2nd semester
 Check Prerequisites for courses (refer to the APG online and
read course descriptions)

*Courses are automatically entered; approved requested
PE alternate classes will be changed when you meet with
your counselors
*Note that 2a and 2b represent 1 semester each
*Do not worry if you have already met your Consumer
Econ requirement or if you want to change PE choice.
This can be done with counselor.

MATH AND SCIENCE RECOMMENDATIONS on IC PORTAL
When students go into the Portal, in addition to REQUIRED (R) courses, the math & science recommendations from
teachers will show up as REQUESTED (E) courses. These are recommendations that the teacher has reviewed with
the student.
Most students will choose to keep these, but they do have the option to DROP THIS REQUEST when they are in the
portal.

Students must bring this completed worksheet with a
PARENT SIGNATURE to their meeting with their
counselor.




Have the same teacher for the entire year and a smoother transition
between semesters.
Explore ideas of justice, the search for meaning, imagination and more
through various genres of fiction and non-fiction.
Semester Courses – Take two of the following:

Creating and Reflecting


The Visual Word


Develop your curiosity and ability to reflect. Like art? This class with
work on your reading, writing, and thinking skills and will tap into your
creative side.
Study literature through the interpretation of filmmaking and films.
This is not just a watching the movie class! You will be expected to
analyze, discuss, and write about cinematography and the devices used
in film.
The Literary Tradition of Comedy

Explore humor in plays, essays, novels, and poetry in this class.
English IV AP Options
 English IV AP: Rhetoric of {Language and Composition
 The capstone class for an accel student
 Prepares you for the AP Language and Composition exam
 Thematically taught and focuses on the use of rhetoric in fiction and non-fiction,
specifically the power of argument
 English IV AP: Literature and Composition
 The capstone class for an honors student
 Prepares you for the AP Literature and Composition exam
 Focuses on literary analysis and the close reading of a variety of fiction and non-
fiction genres

ATHLETIC STUDY HALL
 Students are eligible for Athletic Study Hall during
their high school sport season. Students go back to PE
when their season is over.
 In order to be eligible for Athletic Study Hall you must
