THE FIRST THING IS: BREATHE !

Buy a Karaoke tape and sing till your hearts content Do Office Isometrics Get the crayons out and color Play with “Play Dough” Brush or pet your cat or dog Volunteer to work with under-privileged OR challenged individuals Play ‘Pretend’ with a small child – change your name and personality Consciously slow down when you’re not working Park in the BACK of the work or shopping center parking lot Read to a child (using different voices for the characters) Get rid of the clothes that you haven’t worn in the past year Dare to Dream Big – Fantasize – then take a step forward Reduce refined sugar and alcohol intake Knit, Crochet, or do Origami Star Gaze with a loved one FIDGET with toys (i.e. Slinky, Koosh ball) Take a different way home

ADDING FUN AND HUMOR TO YOUR LIFE

Change the Font !

Chase Butterflies and Fire-flies Practice Laughing–and don’t explain why to anyone!

Change your name… (It’s just for pretend) Laugh at the absurdities of life (if it’s the people in this room – don’t mention their names!)  Surf the internet for humor sites Subscribe to HUMOROUS newsletters (separate email address for subscribing) Sing on an elevator or – (The Star Spangled Banner does nicely. Get people to join in.) Do something you enjoyed doing as a child (i.e. bike riding, skating, water balloons…) Make faces in the mirror (in the restroom at work) Color !

Color outside the lines

Read or listen to motivational books (books on tape) LEARN from Children – (enter a child’s world) Find something to enjoy – or admire – from everyone you meet (sometimes this takes time) Call friends at 7 am on Saturday– Invite them to “Come as you are right now” Party–next Saturday.

Laugh at your own mistakes–If you don’t make any… start making some Pretend you are a reporter– ask probing questions; take notes when anyone complains about trivialities Make your own list of FUN things to do–start doing them BEFORE you get stressed
