leeches

Must be limited to when blood needs to be taken from a
specific area of tissue
Such as when blood needs to be drained from an area surrounded by
damaged blood vessels
Leeches take blood but also release a chemical that inhibit
clotting, increasing blood flow
Also numb the area while blood is drawn
