Sheffield City Regions on developing the North’s role as
a European Centre for high level financial services

The first iteration of the Leeds City Region
Development Programme (CRDP)
• set out an enhanced growth scenario to deliver growth of
3.5% per annum in GVA per capita in order to close the
productivity gap within a 10 year timescale
• identified the key sectors and niche clusters which can
deliver substantial growth
• started to identify the key interventions that will enable
the City Region to contribute towards closing the national
productivity gap
• and contained a commitment to develop a more robust
evidence base to support our propositions

and business infrastructure

collaboration

• Policy Advisers Group of LAs with regional bodies
• Theme groups are developing interventions with wider
partner organisations
• But developing at a pace that is appropriate for the City
Region partners
• And not setting up unnecessary structures
