Data
• Process Data - number of students
affected
• Perception Data - pre/post test
competency attainment or student data
• Results Data - how did the student
change as a result of the lesson
Data
• Plan out ahead of time.
• Collect using surveys, pre/post tests, student
comments, observations, number of referrals,
student grades, etc.
• DO NOT use state testing results as data
unless justified.
• Make data simple. This is not statistics for
graduate students.
Implications
• What does the data tell you?
–
–
–
–
–
–
Was the activity successful?
Did the activity meet your goal?
Is the data accurate and reliable? If not, why?
Did you see something unexpected?
Did it raise other concerns?
What will you continue or change to support
further growth?
– How will the data be shared to support school
goals?
Helpful Hints
• Complete the ASCA National Model program audit
• Purchase a copy of the National Model from ACSA
• Identify what sections you may already have
complete
• Plan out what you will do for each section and when
you will complete it
• Focus on the quality of the materials/evidence, not
quantity
• Complete the management agreement and set up
advisory board early in the year
Helpful Hints
• Be sure to submit 4 completed binders using the
application component page as a cover page with
each sections materials behind it
• Make sure you have signatures on all the necessary
pages
• Have a colleague from another school review the
application and see if you have properly addressed
the rubrics
• Be sure to present to the school board and obtain
proof
