Guidance from ARRL - Get on - Make Q’s Have Fun!
Need Spreadsheet for schedule / Operator
list
Need to coordinate stations / operators
In a week, there are 168 hours
x 10 bands=1680
x3 modes=5040 possible slots (+ Sat)
Task seemed daunting - lots of slots to fill
Implementation/ Team Building

Picked a modifiable spreadsheet for
scheduling
 Contacted LCC members and others to
encourage participation
 Contacted owners of “Large” stations who
could host Multi-Ops, to allow more
operators access to large antenna
 Dedicate several pages on N5LCC web
site to this operation
Procedures

Posted basic rules on what was allowed /
needed
 Continued working to get more operators
 Most scheduling done via email/phone
 editing schedule 4-5 times a day
This worked pretty good, but...
Need to have more scheduling done ahead of time
Schedule


Opted to NOT let others see who our Ops
were - had caused issues w/ other groups
Web form for OTHERS, who only saw a slot
was “Active”

Web form for PARTICIPANTS, could see WHO was
in the slots

only ONE station per band/mode at a time
“Split” very good for pile-up control

Observations

Log submission fairly quick, but only abt 2/3
followed instructions
 rec’d .adi, .log and .txt files, & one w1aw-5.log correct is <your call>_<your qth>_<your grid>.adi
 N3FJP does NOT log Sat Qso’s correctly - had to
edit every one
 West coast/JA wants more low band activity
 East coast/EU wanrts more WARC band activity
 Only ONE gripe email, dozens “Thank You’s”
 Need better scheduling - multiple bands at once
 Need more operators!
WEEK II Nov 26-Dec 2

Need activity on multiple bands at once
 Easier Scheduling
 W5WZ found and hosted interactive
spreadsheet
 each participant scheduled their own
slots, on the fly
