RESPONSIBILITIES OF
SCHOOL/COLLEGE ADMINISTRATION
 To issue a category wise security card to
students/teachers/all other staff having following
particulars ;




Particular school insignia
Current Picture
Signature of authority
Stamp of the organization

ADMINISTRATION
 Canteen/Tuck Shop holder’s complete record/data should
be verified by the concerned Police Station
 Private pick & drop provider’s complete Data should be
verified by the concerned Police Station
 To inform the District Administration before organizing
any programme inside the college/school
 Evacuation plan to be developed and issued and mock
exercises to be conducted for emergency evacuation.
 School/college administration should conduct a drill
monthly for students/staff for evacuation during
emergencies
 To install emergency alarm system inside the
school/college
 Emergency exit should be cleared all the time

 To install CCTV Cameras inside and outside the
schools/colleges
 Walk through Gates to be installed at entrances and
Guards to be provided with modern Metal Detectors (MDs),
reflecting mirrors
 Private drivers to check their vehicles properly before
pick and drop
 Boundary
walls of schools/colleges to be repaired
properly and to raise up to more than 8’ (feet)
 Razor Wire Loops (4’ feet radius) should be
installed/fixed at the top of boundary walls
 Appoint security officer as focal person for security
 Constitute a security committee of student
 Bushes and Hedges to be pruned inside and outside the
school/college.

 To brief teachers/staff/students once a week regarding
current security situation
 Guards/Chowkidars should not be given any duty except
watch & ward
 No hand carts/fruit/candy Vendors/hawkers and taxi cars
to be parked near the schools/colleges
 Weekly/quarterly program should be arranged to deliver
lecture by religious scholar/teacher regarding terrorism in
the light of Islam.

CHOWKIDAR/SECURITY GUARD
 Guests record register should be maintained after their
thorough checking .

Only school vehicles should enter the school premises

Every body should be checked thoroughly and properly

To ensure use of walk through gate (if installed)
 Walk through Gates and MDs should be used for
physical searching
 No lady should enter without being checked by lady
guard
 Security Guard should be aware of weapon and its use as
well

CHOWKIDAR/SECURITY GUARD
 Armed chowkidar should not be used other than his own
duty (open gate, use of mobile phone, talking to other
people)

He should stand and watch the movements at the gate
 Chowkidar should be equipped with facilities of
Intercom, whistle and torch, mobile phone, alarm button,
reflective mirror etc.
 He should clear the vendors/hawkers from school
premises
 He should take notice of safety and security of the
vehicles while picking & dropping
 He should be present at the gate all the time and one
armed guard to be deployed inside the premises

CHOWKIDAR/SECURITY GUARD
 He should know the teacher/staff and students of the
school/college
 He should have all contact numbers of Rescue
departments (15, 1915,1122, Police Stations, Fire Brigade)

He should close the gate after start of classes
 He should inform the school/college administration about
unusual happening/situation at the gate
 He should not take any eatables from unknown persons
during duty
 After the school hours all the rooms to be inspected and
locked properly
 No unauthorized person should be entered after school
hours.

 All the students to display their school/college ID cards
on uniform
 All the students to inform the administration while
observing suspicious car, material or person in school
premises
 Students should inform administration/guard/chowkidar
if a weapon carried by any student
 If some one follows any students, he should inform the
administration

Students should avoid jumping through boundary walls
 Students should not allow any irrelevant person to sit in
school van

To cooperate with school guard
 Avoid sharing information with others about school
entrance or exit and teachers
 Avoid carrying of any unknown material by unknown
person

Purchase eatables only from school tuck-shop
 No unknown routes should be used while travelling to
school
 They should wait for their vehicles inside the school and
avoid standing outside the school gate

 Students should preferably sit inside the
class rooms instead of lawn or anywhere else
 To inform the administration/guard while
observing any suspicious person inside
school/college.

may divert your attention in case of good
or bad news
Talking on mobile phone while driving is
worse than talking to a pessanger
Messaging while driving is the worst of all
