Research on databases
Novel Stack-Based Approach (SBA) to object-oriented and Web-oriented query languages Stack-Based Query Language, SBQL, several implementations: XML DOM model, ICONS (5th EC framework), Objectivity/DB, YAOD and ODRA Prototype object-oriented DBMS YAOD developed from scratch in Java, client-server, XML oriented, SBQL embedded in Java.
Prototype OO DBMS ODRA (currently developed) Porting YAOD to .NET, C#, a fully-fledged database programming language based on SBQL, query optimization, strong typing, metadata management.
Web Content Management and Grid technology
Navigational graphical query-browsing interface Mavigator for retrieval in an object-oriented database I mplemented for the European project ICONS Integration of a fast distributed Web index based on the SDDS package (dynamic hashing) Our own approach to data-intensive grid and to P2P CORBA-like, federated databases, updateable database views, query language, enhanced Web Services, integration of distributed, heterogeneous and redundant data/service resources.
Implementation has just started (based on ODRA)
Relationships with software industry
Several industrial software projects in the past 2002-2004, European Project ICONS (5th Framework) 7 partners (4 academic, 4 industry, Poland, France, Italy, Great Britain, Belgium) The project has been successfully finished with ready to use software (Intelligent Content Management System) 2004-2005 development of methodology for estimation of software costs for Polkomtel SA, polish mobile phone operator.
2005, application for a grant in 6th Framework EC Programme (e-Government), the project e-Gov Bus.
3 academic and 4 industrial institutions, in particular European Microsoft Innovation Center (EMIC).
