Vision
• The vision of the NRC is to create a model for communication,
innovation, conflict resolution, service response, neighborhood
stability and University operation through a spirit of mutual regard
and respect for all individuals in their living, learning and work
environments. (Approved 12/10/08)
Mission
• The mission of the NRC is to build positive relationships among the
City of Davenport, St. Ambrose University and the neighbors
directly surrounding the main campus toward management of the
University’s growth and improvement of the quality of life for the
surrounding neighborhoods. (Approved 12/10/08)

Neighborhood Relations Council
• NRC now restructured with rotating chairperson,
currently a neighbor representative.
• Goals focused on for 2012 year:
▫ NRC will monitor, identify neighborhood issues
and participate in PID process with St. Ambrose
and the city
▫ NRC will continue to participate and provide input
to the SAU Master Facility Planning
▫ Process Identify and address general neighborhood
issues of overlap between City, St. Ambrose and
neighborhoods

▫ Connect students more directly in the NRC
process to develop collaborative relationships
▫ Engage with monitoring new ordinances on
rental property to understand enforcement
▫ Establish ratios for rental to owner
occupied with support from City of Davenport
Planning Dept. and Davenport Police Dept.
▫ Continue to monitor collection of St. Ambrose
local addresses, monthly Ambrose
communications, and rentals of concern
