Can you think what is the point of schools?
What do we hope to achieve in schools?
The purpose of CFE is to create a curriculum that leads
to better outcomes for young people.
It does this by providing them with the knowledge,
skills and attributes they need to thrive in a modern
society.
• 7 Principles of curriculum design such as;
Enjoyment, challenge, choice, depth ,
progression and coherence.
• Entitlement
• PE and RE allocation

The curriculum: ‘the totality of all
that is planned for children and young
people throughout their education’
• Ethos and life of the school as a community

What can you do?
Parental involvement is about supporting pupils and their learning. It is about
parents and teachers working together in partnership to help children
become more confident learners.
All the evidence shows when parents, carers and other family members are
effectively involved in their children’s education, the outcome for their
children is better.
Schools need the support of parents to be truly ambitious and excellent. The
Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006, as part of our wider system
of education reform and improvement, will give more children a better start
and greater opportunities in life.
