Program
Allows public high school students in
Districts, Charter Schools, and StateSupported Schools to earn both HS
and College credit for qualifying dual
credit courses

Redesign
By 2009-2010: entering 9th graders
shall earn at least one credit as:
Honors
Advanced Placement
Dual Credit, or
Distance Learning course

A Dual Credit Course
Yields
High School and College Credit
for
Academic or Career Technical Courses
Apply toward a degree or certificate
program
Remedial and developmental courses
may not be taken for dual credit

Colleges/Universities - Tuition and general fees

Hear appeals on matters outside scope of

Provide recommendations to Cabinet

NOTE: Cabinet Secretaries Make Final

Dual Credit Transcript Ratio
A 3:1 ratio applies to elective
courses offered for dual credit
E.g.
A 3 credit hour college course
counts as 1 high school unit

High school and college faculty
must jointly propose credit ratios
