Zaid Ali, President/Chair
History
• Silicon Valley chapter first floated around Feb 2008
• Outreach to members from ISOC. 30 showed interest and
support.
• April 2008 Website and mailing list established
• Nov 2008 efforts from Sophia Bekele, Annalisa Roger, Franck
Martin helped shape bylaws, chapter application.
• Chapter established Feb 16th 2009
Mission
• Enable members to exchange technical, policy, or otherwise
relevant information amongst themselves.
• Provide the opportunity for outreach from the chapter to the
local community on these topics.
• Promote the core values of the Internet society.
• Interact with other ISOC Chapters and groups globally as well
as relevant groups outside of ISOC.
• Develop programs related to standards, public policy, and
education for the membership.
