Overview
Hours of Service (HOS) is a Qualcomm hosted system that
produces electronic driver logs. These paperless logs are
fully compliant with current Hours of Service regulations.

Overview
HOS sends a signal to the system at two points
through the use of two triggers:
• BOT: Beginning of Trip trigger
• EOT: End of Trip trigger
So…what triggers BOT and EOT?
© 2008 QUALCOMM Incorporated. External presentation to (audience),
prepared by Qualcomm’s (presenters name) – Month Day, 2008.
Overview
BOT signal is sent
when the vehicle has
moved 7/10 of a mile.
EOT signal is sent
when the vehicle is
idle for 5 minutes.
NOTE: You can manually change the status back
to driving to prevent an erroneous EOT.

Overview
HOS automatically detects driving time using vehicle sensor data.
Sensors are attached to the J-1708 data bus and the axle of the vehicle.
