Cognitive-Behavioural Clinical Training in Greece:
the new curriculum
Institute of Behaviour Research and Therapy
Athens – Greece
The Institute of Behaviour Research and Therapy (IBRT) is a non-profitable organization, founded in 1991 by active members of the
Greek Behavioural Association (GBA), with a number of aims: (1) the provision of a four-year postgraduate part-time course in cognitivebehavioural psychotherapy to psychologists and psychiatrists, (2) the organization of lectures, seminars and workshops in related topics, (3)
clinical research and the publication of books and articles, and (4) the provision of assessment and treatment of emotional and psychological
disorders by qualified clinical psychologists and psychiatrists. The training provided by IBRT combines theoretical knowledge and clinical
practice. The teaching program at the beginning of the course has a multi-disciplinary focus on mental health problems and psychotherapy
in general. The teaching staff consists of Institute members, experienced psychiatrists, psychologists and educators.
