Executive Summary
•
Of the 20 sites that completed the assessment, 11 sites are in the Exploring
Phase and 9 sites are in the Emerging Phase
•
Across the cohort, sites were relatively strong in areas including:
– Cross-sector partnerships
– Selection of community level goals
– Identification of coordinating organization
– Communication and key messaging
•
Areas of potential technical assistance include:
– Data Related – Selection of core indicators, baseline reports, continuous
improvement, data management and refinement, adaptive issues related to data
disaggregation
– Structural – Accountability structure and roles and responsibilities, backbone entity
vs. backbone functions

Methodology – General
• Self-Assessment adapted from StriveTogether Civic Infrastructure
Assessment, with a focus on Exploring and Emerging milestones
• Delivered and managed on Qualtrics platform
• Self-Assessment completed between September 2014 and October
2014
• Communities provided with a self-assessment guide, FAQs and
worksheet
• Sites only responded to questions related to milestones they had
reached
• Sites also had the opportunity to upload supporting documents
• StriveTogether team completed assessment analysis and reporting in
October and November 2014
