like Vestas, Enercon & Enercon to stand tempertures down
to -40°C
Hydro is a Norwegian energy and aluminum company
developing floating wind turbines that could be used in deepwater wind farms (depths between 200 and 700 meters.
"The company envisions future wind turbines with a power
capacity of 5 MW and a rotor diameter of approximately 120
meters. [...]“

Spiral Magnus is first wind turbine system that rotates
with cylinders with spiral-shaped fins coiled around instead of blades.
When the spiral cylinders catch the wind, rotating force is generated
due to the aerodynamic properties caused by Magnus Effect.
Magenn Power Inc. plans to start manufacturing its Magenn Air
Rotor System (MARS) in 2009/10 with a 10 kW to 25 kW MARS
unit
The price for the 10 - 25 kW MARS unit is yet to be determined
but it is Magenn's design goal to deliver product at a cost
between the $5 USD to $10 USD dollar per watt range.
