Early Bird registration has closed on 21 Feb
94 teams were registered under Early Bird.
Normal registration is ongoing till 6pm on 7
Mar
10 teams have since been registered under
Normal registration.
Companies are to ensure that Boys are
properly and adequately trained to ensure
that they are physically fit enough to endure
the 45km race and activities
All members (including reserves) must
undergo a medical examination to certify
them fit for the race.
BBHQ has arranged for a doctor to come on
◦ 1) 0830 - 1300 hrs 12 March (Sat)
◦ 2) 1400 - 1700 hrs 12 March (Sat)
◦ 3) 0830 - 1300 hrs 19 March (Sat)

form attached in the email sent out on 25
Feb, Fri.
Team members are to bring their health
booklets and $12 each.
It is NOT compulsory to do the medical
examination at BBHQ.
Boys can go to their family doctors but they
should bring along the medical examination
form given by BBHQ (downloadable from the
Officers’ Portal).
The completed Medical Examination cum
Parental Consent Form must reach the
Brigade Office latest by 6pm on 25 Mar (Fri)
in order for Boys to participate in the BB Blaze
2011.
Reporting time: 0330-0415hrs on 2 Apr
Participants are not allowed to stay overnight
before the event.
Vehicles are not allowed into the premises.
Only participants, marshals and officials are
allowed into the premises.
Info will be released on 25 Mar.

Registration & Holding Area
- 4 registered Competitors + Marshal
Team leader reports with identification
documents (NRIC/EZ Link Cards) to
Registration Desk.
Team members confirmed; route card issued.
Team to proceed to Holding Area
Final briefing to participants at 0530hrs.
Flag-off at 0630hrs.
No substitutions allowed, except for medical
or emergency reasons at the start of the race.
Only 4 out of the 5 registered Boys are
allowed to race.
Reserve Team Member to go home or help
out.
Only 4 Boys and Marshals in the Registration
and Holding Area.
Honour System: No checks conducted.
No check of equipment, certificates, Form
32A submission required for kayaking and
first aid will be conducted.
Captains and Officers’ checks on their own
Company level is required.
We then accept the Captain and Officer’s
declarations
Teams will be disqualified if they are found
not to have any required equipment.
Teams will be disqualified if they are found to
lack the required proficiencies.

Approximate distance: est 45km
Cut-off Times for each Leg will be set by the
Committee
After cut-off, teams will be directed back to the
Start Point.
Route cards: Official Race Document
Responsibility of teams to ensure that:
1. They are issued with the correct route
cards.
2. Route cards are stamped at every
checkpoint.
3. Route cards are not surrendered
except at End Point (not even to other
marshals, even if disqualified).

Teams have to bring along their own
1:50,000 map for the competition.
Teams must finish with the same members
they started with.
Determination of placing: First team that
steps on finishing mat & completed all
checkpoints is the winner; succeeding teams
will be placed accordingly.
Log cards are to be submitted to the End
Point official, otherwise team will not be
placed.
Ceremony will commence at 1700hrs.
No parking available within premises.
Prizes:
- Challenge Trophy – Best Team
- Team Prizes – 1st to 10th positions

Helpers: BB Polo – White with blue collar

No Company t-shirts are allowed

All teams to carry at least 1 mobile phone
which number has been listed in the
Registration form – the number will be
verified at registration & should remain
contactable during the race.
Participants should waterproof their
equipment.
Participants to supply own food and drink –
breakfast and lunch will not be provided.
Compulsory equipment:
- Bicycles
- Bicycle helmets
- Bicycle Repair Kit
- Gloves
- First Aid Kits
Participants need to provide their own.
All teams will supply and install their own
identification tags to be affixed to the bicycles.
4 per team and they should be non-motorised.
Bicycle Drop-Off / Pick-Up points to be
announced on 25 Mar.
Any bikes not picked up after 6pm will not be
looked after and the organisers bear no
responsibility for damages or losses.
No communication device is to be used by
any member of the team.
Each team is to supply one handphone, with
the battery separated from the phone and
placed inside the Emergency package. It will
be held by the team and should be used only
for emergency purposes and only for calling
the Ops Room.
Compulsory to wear helmet while cycling and
rappelling.
All traffic rules to be observed, including
those that apply to bicycles.
- No riding on overhead bridges and tunnels
if so indicated.
In the event of bad weather, participants are
to take instructions from marshals.
Any team whose participants are caught
flouting any safety rules will be disqualified.
E.g. walking on expressway
Participants must declare if they are feeling
unwell on the day of the race.
Medical staff have the authority to stop teams
from continuing should they deem any
participant to be unfit, even in the midst of
the event.
If teams encounter medical situations:
- Have the team member apply treatment
first
- If it is too severe for self-treatment, look
for a Race official, First Aider, or Marshal for
help
- Call Ops Room for help if no Race official,
First Aider, or Marshal is nearby
At any point in the race, the medical officer
has full authority to stop any team from
continuing the race if he deems any team
participant unfit to continue.
If any member drops out of the race for any
reason, the whole team will be disqualified.
The Committee reserves the right to
disqualify any winning team who is found to
have violated any rules and regulations of the
competition.
Teams that are found to infringe safety,
traffic and communication rules will be
disqualified.
In the event that any team decides to drop
out or is disqualified, the following SOP apply
The team must report to the next marshal
point to surrender their log card and inform
the marshal of their intention.
If the team is midway through cycling, the
team must cycle or push their bikes to the
End Point to surrender their log card and
declare that they have dropped out of the
race.
No team is allowed to depart from any part
of the race, or go home, without the
permission of the Chairman.
Protests regarding team placing must be
made on the spot.
Decisions made by adjudication panel will be
final.
All marshals must be 21 years and above as they will
be deployed across the island to ensure the safety of
our Boys
Each participating team has to be registered with 1
marshal (no duplicates for teams from the same Coy)
Marshals MUST report together with participating
teams
Briefing to Marshals: BB Campus, 31 Mar at 1930hrs
Failure of the Marshal to turn up for the briefing or
on the event day, or leaving halfway through the
event, will render the team to be disqualified as
safety is a priority for this race
Please ensure email addresses and contact
numbers of OICs are correct so that they can
convey latest info to team members.

their e-mails frequently and remain
contactable by BBHQ

It is the responsibility of all Captains,
Officers, OICs and all present to convey the
info to all team members.
Plea of ignorance will not be accepted should
any team be found to violate any of the
regulations mentioned here.
