Program Objectives
 Provide relevant work experience
 Provide an opportunity to consider academic

 Founded in 1992 for MBA students only
o Financed for 2 years by the President’s Teaching and Learning
Enhancement Fund
 Expanded in the third year to include undergraduate
students (7 undergrads and 7 grads)
 In 1995 with new MBA, program modified to focus on
undergrads and MSc students

 Employer decides on screen
o May want to see all applications
o May want faculty to screen to a smaller number
o May want faculty to select one or two candidates
 Applications are passed on to employers who make
final decisions
 Once final placement is set, special studies are set up,
if needed
 Professional skills training a possibility
