Greater Bor Community-USA
 A union of three communities
 Diaspora and Southern Sudan communities
 Assists Sudanese immigrants in the United
States to improve the quality of their lives in
order to become productive, responsible
individuals who give back to their immediate
communities.
 It focuses on hunger and poverty eradication
initiatives among the communities in Southern
Sudan.

GBC mission is to empower and develop the people of
Greater Bor and others through organization and
support of sustainable and well-governed communities
that respond to the needs of their citizens through
creation of economic opportunities, reduction of
widespread poverty, positive role modeling and moral
conduct by citizenry of Bor, Jonglei and Southern Sudan.

Organization of Communities
GBC will work to encourage its sub-communities and others
to organize into strong community organizations that work to
address their issues and collaborate with neighboring
communities to work on issues of mutual benefits.
 Empowerment of Diaspora communities and relationship
building
GBC will work to empower Diaspora communities through its
many programs.
 Empowerment and development of home communities and
relationship building
GBC will work to help communities in Southern Sudan
develop and will assist in peace and relationship building
initiatives.
 Strategic Resource Development
GBC will work to develop a robust resource strategic plan and
cultivate and develop its stakeholder groups.

Micro and macro organizations of communities are the
first priority of GBC.
 GBC works to encourage and support its sub-communities
to organize as professional organizations that work to
address their issues and work with neighboring
communities to address issues of their mutual interests.

GBC will focus on hunger and poverty eradication,
improvement of living conditions and relationship
building among Southern Sudan communities.

Establishment of community development Bank—a
means to sustain the organization
 Promotion of agricultural programs---with focus on
machines i.e. tractors and better storage facilities to avoid
waste of farmers’ produce
 Micro-loan programs---to develop private sector
 Trade and economic development---set the economy in
motion

Clean water project---GBC plus other water service

Clothing drive ---clothing drives & seeking of opportunities
from clothing companies to donate
Permanent shelter provision---construction organizations e.g.
