How Data is Used by the School
Fischer Family Trust
• Charitable government organisation.
• Uses the data prediction system from the University of Durham.
• KS4 Information based on five A-C and is updated three times a
year based on SLASK returns (numbers of students, free school
meals, SEN, EAL, Family set up etc).
• Local Authorities set Schools targets based on FFT.
• FFT now include a two level progress indicator for Maths and
English.
• FFT also reflects National Trends and Expectations of performance
of schools based on past performance.
• For further information go to www.fischerfamilytrust.org.uk
Activities
•Use the KS4 data available to select a student who
is underachieving in two of the three core subjects.
•What targets or strategies would you set to enable
these students to make progress towards their
targets?
• Using KS2/3 Predictions and available data for
identified students, discuss areas that need to be
focused on.
•What targets would you set and what strategies
would achieve these targets?
Impact of Data on Classroom
Practice
• SEF (School Evaluation Form) identifies
whole school targets.
• Departments implement the whole school
targets and set their own learning targets.
• Teaching group targets are then set from
the above.
