Course Description:
This course will introduce students to advanced
concepts in health law
Overall Objective:
Improve understanding of health legislation
Specific Objectives:
• This course is designed to introduce students to

the legal issues that arise from the relationships
between and among patients and health care
providers.
Primary areas include: conflicts between cost
effective and high quality health care; access to
care; individual and institutional liability;
professional standards and norms, patients rights
with special focus on informed consent and other
legal issues.
