Our vision. Our mission
Vision
The Bloomfield Public Schools
will be a high-performing
district with a positive climate
of inclusion, an expectation
of competitive academic
achievement and a culture
of meaningful parent and
community engagement.
Theory of Action
The Bloomfield Public Schools
will successfully implement
a comprehensive and
collaborative accountability
system characterized by
data-supported planning and
decision-making practices
at every level, leading to
strengthened adult work
throughout the district. As a
result, learning for all students
substantially improves, and is
sustained over time.
Priority 1:
Holistic Accountability
The Bloomfield Public Schools will embrace data-driven decision-making so that all educators engage in data
teams to analyze and adjust instruction and practices in order to promote the preparation of all students for
college and career. The foundation of Holistic Accountability is using data to monitor and support the delivery
of a high-quality instruction anchored by a rigorous curriculum, the promotion of a positive school climate,
and the support of parent and community engagement.
Priority 2:
Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment
Bloomfield Public Schools educators will implement, with fidelity, a standards-based curriculum in English
Language Arts and Math for pre-k through grade 12 students, with instruction and assessment practices aligned
with the Common Core State Standards.
Priority 3:
Positive School Climate
Bloomfield Public Schools will promote practices and implement procedures that create supportive
communities of learners who demonstrate enthusiasm for learning and respect one another.
Priority 4:
Parent and Community Engagement
Bloomfield Public Schools will build strong community partnerships in every school where families are active
participants in their children’s education and deeply engaged in key school activities; and where community
members have a strong stewardship of all of Bloomfield’s children.

Goal for Holistic Accountability
By September 2015, all educators will engage in data
teams that analyze and adjust instruction to promote
the preparation of all students for college and career
readiness as a result of attending highly competitive
schools that promote high academic achievement,
positive school climate, and parent and community
engagement.
