ECOLOGICAL
ORGANIZATOINS OF
RUSSIA
Today our environment and wildlife are in
danger. Every day the situation becomes
worse and worse.

Our project is devoted to organizations that
deal with protection of our planet. Before
speaking about environmental problems
we would like to show the results of our
survey. We asked our schoolmates 4
questions about ecological problems.

In our country there are some organizations that
protect our environment.



A Greenpeace office in our country was
established in 1989 and since 1992 we call
ourselves/were given a name of Greenpeace
Russia. In 2001 our branch was opened in Saint
Petersburg.
Greenpeace Russia has 5 thousand supporters
who share their values and donate to their work.
The activists use their skills and experience to
participate in the campaigns.
Together we can save our planet for future
generations!
They work in the following fields:





forests’ protection;
protection of world heritage;
protection from the threat of new
Chernobyl type accidents and prevent
Russia from becoming an international
radioactive dump;
protection of Lake Baikal;
Protection of people from GE food
products
The Biodiversity Conservation Center
(BCC) is a nonprofit, non-governmental
organization working for restoration and
protection of pristine nature allover
Northern Eurasia.

The BCC's main objectives are:

designing different conservation programs and
projects;

providing protection of national parks and other
protected natural areas;

promoting partnership between Russian and
overseas
environmental
organizations,
coordinating their efforts in wildlife protection;

developing new conservation projects;

improving management of protected natural areas
and developing conditions for lives of their
residents
Another organization is World Wild Fund (WWF) –
one of the biggest independent ecological
organizations.
Their main aims are:
 protection of forest areas;
 preserve species of animals and fish of the
Russian seas;
 Protection of such animals as Polar bear
Amur tiger, Far eastern leopard, Grey
Whales;
helping ecosystems adapt to new climate
patterns.

Also there are some other organizations in our
country, but if you take any of them you’ll see,
that they have very much in common.
Their aim is to protect our planet for future
generations.
