Danube River One of the important rivers on the European Plain, the source of the Danube is in the Alps, and its mouth is at the Black Sea.

Rhine River- Another important river on the European Plain that also begins in the Alps. The Rhine River’s mouth is located at the North Sea.

European Plain-

This plain extends from France to Russia and contains some of the world’s best farmland. It is bordered on the west by the Pyrenees Mountains, to the east by the Ural Mountains, and part of its southern border is formed by the Alps.

The Alps- This mountain range is found throughout much of Switzerland and Austria, in some of France and northern Italy. They form the southern border of the European Plain and are the source of the Rhine and Danube Rivers. Ural Mountains- These mountains run in a general northern & southern direction, forming the eastern border of the European Plain and the border that divides the continents of Europe and Asia .

The Pyrenees- These mountains form a natural border between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe, and they create the western border of the European Plain.

Iberian Peninsula- With the Pyrenees Mountains to the north, this peninsula is made up of Portugal and Spain.

Scandinavian Peninsula- This is the largest peninsula in Europe consist of Norway, Sweden, and the northern part of Finland.
