Name Segment Search
Long chemical names can be
difficult to enter correctly and find in
the database. The new feature will
all searching by just segments of
the name. The order of entry
makes no difference in the results
displayed.
Click on the Name Segment (NS)
icon to initiate the search option.
Works with UN# and CAS# also.

segments of name separated
by spaces, click on [OK].
A new window will appear with
number of time those segments
were found. Click on [Yes] to
display the entries.

again to reduce the
number of possible
matches.

the window).

Outlook 2000 email
facility.

Google Earth mapping option
The current PEAC Map Tool only provides maps
for USA locations. To support users in overseas
locations there will be a Google Earth mapping
option.
The PEAC Map Tool icon will display shape file
(polygon that represents plume exclusion zone,
explosion standoff distance, etc) as before.
The Google Earth icon will display shapefile on
Google Earth if you have internet connection.

Importing shape files to GeoBase
• Following is documented in User’s Guide
• All shape files (polygons) are saved in the following
directory
My Documents\PEAC\Results\Shapes
• All entries are named in following manner
– Type of computation (PAD, EXP, FB, GD, ND)
– Chemical name involved (up to 20 characters)
– Time stamp of when computation was made
yyyymmdd_hhmmss
– For GeoBase select the file name with extension “shp”
