DMC Stats for Dauphin County and Pennsylvania

County  24.9% African American – RRI at arrest in 2008 was 2.73*  8.1% Hispanic/Latino  2.7% Asian  63.8% Caucasian State 14.1% African American – RRI at arrest in 2008 was 3.70*  6.6% Hispanic/Latino  2.4% Asian  76.5% Caucasian

*Indicates that the relative volume of arrests involving all minority youth in Dauphin County was 2.73 and 3.7 (statewide) times as high as for white youth.

Middle School DMC Curriculum

 Developed as an outcome to the forums  Designed to reduce arrests of juveniles  Focus on 7 th and 8 th graders  Piloted in Downey in 2009  Comprised of 10 lessons designed to educate youth about their rights, responsibilities, and the juvenile justice system
