El imperfecto
Imperfect usually
translates to:
“used to”
“always did”
“would do” in the past
Examples:
Yo tenía un perro.
I used to have a dog.
Él jugaba el fútbol cuando era niño.
He use to play soccer when he was a kid.
Tú te acostabas temprano de niña.
You always went to bed early as a
child.
The imperfect tense is formed as
follows:

There are only 3 irregulars in the
imperfect:
IR => iba
(used to go)
SER => era
(used to be)
VER => veía
(used to see)
*There are no stem-changes or
spelling changes EVER!!!
• Just add “s” for tú
form, “mos” for
nosotros, “n” for
ellos/Uds.
