Role of the OSD
Academic Role: Responsibility to uphold the standards of the curriculum, technical competencies, & institutional integrity Service Role: Responsibility to treat others with dignity, while maintaining other roles simultaneously Legal Role: Responsibility to ensure students with documented disabilities have equal access to UC San Diego’s programs and activities in a consistent and timely manner

A collaborative approach for eligible accommodations, working with faculty, Teaching Assistants, and the students with disabilities. For example: Note-taking (ASL Notes or Peer Notes) Alternative formats Reading assignments in advance Completing in-class assignments after class Use of special furniture Tape record lectures Sign language interpreters Captioned video or other electronic information
